29 faces #17

#17 - quite stylized - big eyes, teeny nose and mouth.

29 faces #16

#16 - still having problems with noses.  This one is a little shorter and I think, little better.  Prismacolour coloured pencils, some soft pastel

29 Faces, #11

#11 -   This one is a little better.  Still having that cheek shading problem.  She looks fine on paper, but the photograph seems to emphasize the shading.

29 Faces #10

#10 - Those big eyes again.  I find it hard to make any attempt at shading look like anything except dark patches .

29 faces, #8 and #9

More faces:

#8: Very stylizes, inspired by a painting I saw on pinterest - hence the odd shape of the cat.  The princess Leia hair was my idea.

#9:  Stylized again.  Trying out different things.  The girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead.

29 Faces - # 5, 6. 7

I'm starting to fall behind with my 29 faces because I have 3 half done that I want to paint.  Here are some more:

#5 - An attempt to radically change my style by drawing one of those girls with large eyes that are seen here and there.  This one was inspired by Mary R. Artist at the Let's Paint Fabulous Faces April 2013 Facebook group, but hers are lovely, mine just has big eyes.  Media used include soft pastels, pan pastels, prismacolour coloured pencils;  I don't think she's finished yet

#6 - an attempt at a silhouette.  She looks very fierce and her jaw is way too large.  Not very successful

#7 -  "Beach baby, beach baby...Don't know why that song was running through me head as I was drawing her - perhaps the pony tail, which is in the lyrics to the song.  Not to bad an attempt.  Hair's a bit thin, but then some of us have thin hair.

29 Faces #4

Here's #4 - now this one's terrible - tried to add a headband, but again the hair doesn't work and the mouth is a bit too large.

29 faces #3

#3 - girl in a hat - not too good - hair is too blunt and she's a it stiff.  Learn as you go.

29 Faces # 2

I quite like this one

29 Faces of February - face #1

I'm going to try to do the 29 faces of February this year, although I'm already so far behind, it may not be attainable,  I have 5 faces done, just in various parts of completion.  See what the net few days bring.

She is acrylics on watercolour paper.  I had to cut her out because there was something ugly on the paper I couldn't remove.   I then pasted her on a gelli print, but I think the bottom needs something with colour in it.

Zip it Opener

Now here is a tool that I want.  Because of my rheumatoid arthritis I have even more trouble opening blister packs now than when I was disease free (even though it's hard to imagine being disease-free).  I know no one finds opening these packages easy and hence this tool would be useful for everyone.

Thanks to Marianna Paulson at Auntie Stress for her contest to win one of these marvelous devices. There are still a few hours to enter.  Go to http://auntiestress.com/2014/02/02/give-away-rheumatoid-day/
