Every Inchie Monday: Next

Hello for the last time this year Folks,

Next, this week's word at Every Inchie Monday is such an innocuous little word.  Four letters, not very threatening, but again this week I had a lot of trouble with it.  Best I could come up with was on inchie representing next year: 2016.  I put it on sparkly, New Year's Eve-ish paper, which made it difficult to photograph with the flash on the camera.

My quilled inchie really isn't quilled but it is tiny and made with paper.  I thought I would pay tribute to Trillian's brilliant idea of picking all next year's words from The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy:

I'm looking forward to next year's list.

Here's wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year.  My first resolution - and I'm someone who never makes resolutions, but I have a lot this year - is to take better pictures of my inchies.

Thank you everyone for visiting my site and for the wonderful comments.  They really make my day - and year.

Every Inchie Monday: Evolution

Hello Folks,

This week's word at Every Inchie Monday is evolution.  I think this may be one of the hardest words I've done since I joined mid-2014.  I could not think of anything to draw that would fit into one inch.  The best I could come up with was the evolution of the telephone.

If the drawn inchie was difficult, the quilled one was nearly impossible.  Best I could do was blue circles evolving in size:

It's pretty lame, but after A LOT of thought, it was the best I could do.  Some weeks you have it, some weeks you don't.

I think I need to evolve into a better thinker this week.

Hope your holiday preparations are going well and are not getting you down.  I confess that I often feel lonely at this time of the year.  I have  a small family that I will see once.  The rest of the time is empty.  Guess I shouldn't expect life to be like a movie.  Ah well, I will work on next year's inchies.  I thought I was pretty clever recognizing that some of the words are from The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy until someone pointed out that they are all from that book.  Way to go Trillian.

Every Inchie Monday: Locomotive

Hello Folks,

This week's word at Every Inchie Monday is locomotive.
I love riding on trains, even subway trains when I'm in a city that has them.  Don't know why, just always have.  Here's one of the better known locomotives, Thomas the Train:

I really love this week's quilled inchie.  Thought the steam added a special something, even if it does go off the inchie square.

I can't think of a  thing to do this week that has anything to do with  locomotives.  Oh well, have a good week.

Every Inchie Monday: Angel

Hello Folks,

I took a slightly odd approach to this week's word at Every Inchie Monday:  Angel.  I once again mine that special world of Doctor Who.  This is one of the bad guys on the show, a Weeping Angel.  They only move when you are not looking at them, so one of the catch phrases of the series is 'Don't Blink'.

My quilled inchie is along more traditional lines.

I'm delighted to see next year's words up.  Can't wait to get a start.  I'm going to work hard on photographing my inchies better this year - too many of mine are slightly out of focus.
At this time of the year where tensions can run high because everyone is so busy, let's try extra hard to be angels to each other (and especially store clerks)...and remember, Don't Blink.
