Every Inchie monday: Envelope

Hello Folks,

This week's word at Every inchie monday is Envelope.  Nothing spectacular this week, just ordinary envelopes!  I didn't draw one, instead making one out a teeny, tiny piece of paper.

My quilled inchie was a bit difficult because I am just beginning to learn how to make inchies with the paper on it's side.  It's very difficult to keep the 1/8 [edit] inch wide strip of paper upright on its edge.  Yet some of the most beautiful quilling is done this way.  (Sorry for the shadows in the photograph.  I had a hard time getting the lighting right.)

Hope you get happy mail from someone this week.

  1. Love them both, I like that you had a letter in it, great work with that. Since I have never quilled I wouldn't ever think about having to put the paper on its side. But I think you did a great job of it. I love the shadows by the way, gives it depth. Great work!

  2. Honestly, you're an amazing quiller! The shadows are the whole point of having paper on edge. Wait til you start playing with velum quilling strips - you get some light go through the paper and reflect on the background. Do you want to really hate me - have a go with 1/8" strips, then do something with 1/16". :D Great minds continue to think alike with our little real envelopes. You went one better - I didn't even think of making something in quilling here.
