Every Inchie Monday: salmon

This week's word at Every Inchie Monday is Salmon.

I'm not a fish lover and the colour doesn't entice me, but did you know there are something called Salmonberries?  (I love Every Inchie Monday - the research always brings up something new.)  I don't know what they taste like, but they look a lot like multicoloured raspberries, because they can be shades of red, pinks and yellow.  Here is the berry and the very pretty flower.

  6. Salmon Berries grow wild here in Oregon. You're especially likely to find them in forests, but I've even found a tiny patch in a flowerbed at the local library! There would probably be more of them were it not for the competition from the terribly invasive - but oh so tasty! - Himalayan blackberries that take over Everything out here when given the slightest chance.
Salmon berries, alas, do not taste as good as either blackberries or raspberries and can tend to be a little bland, but I have snacked on them from time to time!
